The world of One Piece is wonderful and fanciful on the outside, with dark and mysterious undertones lurking beneath the surface. The cheery but righteous Straw Hat crew are a breath of fresh air in a world that's become used to injustice, and they can bring a smile to anyone's face. With that said, there's a lot of questions about the Straw Hats' appearances due to Eiichiro Oda's drawing style and lack of specific details within the story about a character's age. It's almost impossible to tell how tall some characters actually are due to the wild body proportions of One Piece characters, but the data is all there somewhere. Updated September 20, 2021 by Mark Sammut: One Piece's Straw Hats are anime and manga icons. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and company all have memorable designs, unique personalities, and fun powers. While some characters contribute more consistently to the story than others, each member has their share of unforgettable moments.
39; personal information has been included in the following table.
As this grand adventure steadily approaches its closing years, the Straw Hats' roster is unlikely to expand beyond its current formation. To make each character's age, height, and birthday as easy to find as possible, the information has been streamlined into a table. Vivi has also been added because she was part of the crew for a time. At this point in One Piece, it seems unlikely that the Straw Hats will welcome a new member into the crew, although there is always a chance that Eiichiro Oda will surprise readers. Still, the current lineup could very well be the final one; therefore, for easy access, the Straw Hats' personal information has been included in the following table. Note: For the characters' ages and heights, the pre and post-timeskip information are provided. The first bullet point covers the former while the second point relates to the latter. Also, the height's feet and inches data have been rounded up. Monkey D. Luffy was born on May 5, which is Children's Day in Japan. Children's Day takes place during Golden Week, where children get a short vacation from school and are celebrated for their personalities and happiness. It reflects Luffy's personality perfectly since he's the most happy-go-lucky guy in all of One Piece. As the captain of the Straw Hats, Luffy is the glue that keeps everyone together. His drive for adventure and willingness to help those who are prepared to ask for it makes Luffy an enigmatic figure that naturally attracts other pirates (or bounty hunters) to him. Roronoa Zoro is the stoic right-hand man of Luffy who always does what's best for the longevity of the Straw Hat Pirates while looking for his next great battle.
That said, she is pretty dangerous with her Clima-Tact.
Zoro has a level head compared to Luffy and is capable of making more stable decisions, which could be a product of his age since the swordsman is two years older than his captain. Zoro is vicious in battle, arguably the most out of any Straw Hat barring perhaps Nico Robin. Dependable in most areas that do not have to do with giving directions, Zoro steps up to the plate even in the direst of situations, such as Kuma's appearance in the Thriller Bark arc. Nami is the navigator and treasurer of the Straw Hats, and she has a bunch of other skills and small roles as well. Just like most of the women in One Piece, Nami is quite tall. Although only slightly older than Luffy, Nami occasionally plays the part of the mature sibling; however, this primarily comes down to the fact that she is one of the more cautious members of the Straw Hats. That said, she is pretty dangerous with her Clima-Tact. Nami's birthday is July 3rd, making her a Cancer. Cancers are generally thought to be well versed in emotion, and Nami is possibly the most compassionate Straw Hat given the right circumstances.
39;s Day. This is extremely fitting considering his tendency to prank others and spin tall tales.
She can certainly be greedy and cut-throat, but when it comes to protecting the weak, she's the first to put her life on the line. Usopp is the same age as Luffy and acts similar to his captain in many ways when it comes to having fun. Usopp standout from Luffy due to his risk-aversion mentality, as the Straw Hat is well aware that he is vulnerable in battle. Usopp's birthday is April 1st, otherwise known as April Fool's Day. This is extremely fitting considering his tendency to prank others and spin tall tales. After his sniping skills, Usopp's imagination is his strongest weapon and the Straw Hat Pirates definitely make use of it. Just by looking at Sanji, his age is probably the hardest to guess out of all the Straw Hat Pirates (the human ones at least). He goes for a more mature look in style and attitude making him appear older than he actually is. Making up the Straw Hats' trinity of powerful fighters alongside Luffy and Zoro, Sanji's kicks are devastating, and he has consistently grown stronger throughout One Piece. Chopper is another character who most fans probably couldn't guess his age if they tried. Chopper is actually the youngest Straw Hat, and he is occasionally treated as Such. It is not unusual for Chopper to be parented by characters such as Robin and Zoro. His birthday is December 24th, Christmas Eve which reflects the cold climate he comes from and the fact that he was originally a reindeer.
Chopper's small size and gentle appearance are an invitation for enemies to underestimate him, but he's a fierce fighter when he has to be. Nico Robin is the cool and collected Straw Hat with a love for "cute things". Her personality is hard to pin down until the later parts of One Piece, but she's a fan favorite for sure. When she joined the crew, Robin was quite a mysterious figure as she kept her distance from the crew. This stemmed from her tragic backstory. Robin's birthday is February 6th, which makes her an Aquarius which are known for their honesty and imagination. This trait is best demonstrated when she sees something cute and can't help but get starry eyes and exclaim how cute something is. Franky is a giant. It's clear in the series but his height and scale seem to change for comedic and dramatic effect, making it difficult to tell how tall he really is. Franky's actual height is 240cm after the time skip, putting him up there with NBA players. Before joining Luffy's ragtag crew of adventurers, Franky was an adult with a career and "crew" of his own. Consequently, it made sense that he was much older than the rest of the characters who formed the Straw Hats at the time.
Brook is ACTUALLY a giant. He appears tall, lanky, and fragile since he's all bones but it's difficult to tell what his real height is. A musician, Brook brings plenty of charm and humor to the Straw Hats' travels. Although not quite reaching Zoro or Sanji's levels, Brook is a capable fighter in his own right. While his age is around the 90 mark, Brook died at 38 and his body has been preserved since then, albeit in skeleton form. Jinbe is the newest addition to the Straw Hats who lived during the Golden Age of pirates and led the Sun Pirates, basically as the king of the Fishman underworld. Because of this, he's older than the other Straw Hats at 46 years old. Jinbe's height is shown to change throughout the manga and anime for scale because if his true height was shown, he might not always fit on the screen. He's a giant Fishman with the build of a blue whale and a shark. His monstrous size hides his compassionate and gentle side. His birthday is April 2nd, which makes him an Aries, a sign known for its ambition. Nefertari Vivi was only part of the Straw Hats for a brief period, as she joined the crew during the Alabasta Saga. This whole ordeal led to the Straw Hats taking on Baroque Works, with Vivi seeking Luffy's help to free Alabasta from Crocodile's dictatorship. Vivi left the Straw Hats straight after this arc, however, she is a crew member in spirit. As the princess of a country, Vivi can't travel the Grand Line on the Thousand Sunny with the Straw Hats, but there is no doubt that Luffy would welcome her to the crew in a heartbeat.
Scott Shelly ( Hangul:셸리 ) is one of the female protagonists in the webtoon. She begins a one-sided relationship with Jay at the start of the series but as the story progress they have a mutual crush on each other and as of chapter 378 they are in a relationship. Shelly is the only female member of the Humming Bird Crew. Because she stayed at England before coming to Korea her personality is perceived as very headstrong. She does not like it when people talk badly about her friends, especially Jay. Shelly also has a lot of stamina and strength, she can keep up with the group's pace when racing and can actually send people flying with her punch (Although that may be for comedic reasons) but never got into the street fights with the guys of the crew. When she was hit on in her first appearance on the series she refused with a lot of sass. Mia described her as someone who can confidently express her thoughts and feelings. Although her words are harsh, it is because she never sugar coated her words with her friends. And with Jay, Shelly is very clingy and flirtatious. She has very foreign features: pale skin, her eyes actually look more mint green in color than blue, blond wavy hair. It is known later in the series that she has a tattoo in the side of her arm near the wrist that reads out "temet nosce" or "Know Thyself". At school she wears her uniform usually without the red vest and both wears the skirt and pants.
27) that she will be in Korea for one semester.
She is often seen wearing high-end brand clothing, but also occasionally wearing street wear and tomboyish clothes. When riding her bike, she usually wears a jacket and helmet with the same color as her eyes or the Hummingbird crew's hood. She is tall, with long thin legs, a small waist and a bigger bust. Not much is known about Shelly, but it is established that she is from England and she requested to transfer to Sunny High School because of Jay. It was told in an early episode (Ep. 27) that she will be in Korea for one semester. Shelly is the granddaughter of Sunny High School's principal, Nick. When Shelly was a kid, she didn't want to get married and promised Nick that she will just live with him forever, which caused Nick to think that Shelly is not interested to guys until she got interested in Jay. That also caused the over protectiveness of her grandfather. Jay saw what happened and chased the thieves to get her purse back. She refused on taking him to the hospital but Jay refused. She picked up his student ID that had fallen to the ground and, motivated by her encounter with Jay, called her grandfather, asking him to let her attend Sunny High School. Her second meeting with Jay was in their classroom. She kissed him out of the blue and the gossip that Shelly and Jay were in a relationship quickly spread around the school.
39;ll forgive him if he became her boyfriend for a week and Jay agreed.
When Jay, Dom and Minu got suspended, Shelly visited them and scolded Dom and Minu badly about how Jay got caught with their actions. Jay got pissed and told her to screw off, she ended up crying and running away. When Jay was about to say sorry, he got a pink rose from Minu, saying that he should give it to her. He couldn't and Shelly went on saying that she'll forgive him if he became her boyfriend for a week and Jay agreed. She joined Hummingbird as the only female on the team, she continued to flirt with Jay and when Jay was teaching Mia how to ride a bike, she kept on intervening and wanting him to teach her even though she knows how. On a special episode, Shelly was seen riding a bike in Jay's neighborhood. Minu and Kay noticed her, Kay was thinking of who might Shelly go out with and ended up being shocked that it was his brother. In the last scene, Jay and Shelly are resting after riding their bike together, and she comments that Jay suits biking more than studying. The Preliminaries for the League of Street has started, only Dom and Jay were able to race at the first two rounds. After that, they found out that Jay's birthday was near and planned to celebrate it. She didn't showed up at school on his birthday because she was the one who prepared the gift that they got for him.
When the boys with the worried June except Jay planned to give Jay a strong alcoholic drink, they didn't expect Shelly to drink it, thinking it was juice. They are dumb-founded and later on, a drunk Shelly came closer to Jay and told her how she was hurt by his actions and proceeding to kiss him the second time. They pulled Shelly of Jay who was already littered with kiss marks. Mia was the one who brought Shelly home, when she was sober enough, Mia asked her if she liked Jay which she answered yes. Mia told her how she envied her for being able to confidently express her thoughts and feelings. Shelly answered that she doesn't understand Mia's concern and told her an advice to start believing in herself more and learning to love herself. This pushed Mia to contact the modeling agency that reached out to her. Before the race, Shelly was being hit on by a member of the Bullet Crew who will be racing against them. The glasses guy kept on hitting on her even when she's denying him. Vinny came to her rescue and punched the guy when he didn't stop.
