Saitama is the protagonist of the hit anime and manga One Punch Man, based on the webcomic of the same name. As a child, Saitama was an avid fan of super-hero shows, and wished to become one himself. His first good deed on the path to becoming a hero was the day he saved someone from a crab mutant. After he experienced the thrill of battle, he made a decision to become a hero for fun. Saitama started a daily training schedule which consists of 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups and 100 squats along with running 10 km every single day. He ate three meals a day, but only a banana as breakfast. These daily activities were extremely tough and caused excruciating pain, muscle aches and internal bleeding. However, Saitama didn't give up and continued his training day after day. After hundreds of days, Saitama gained uncanny strength, but at the cost of his hair. Extreme Physique: Saitama's strict training routine turned him into the strongest man in his universe, being able to finish almost all of his foes with just one punch. He's also extremely fast and durable, to a ridiculous extent. Devastating Strength: Saitama can kill pretty much everyone in one punch in his universe.
He can decimate most foes with just one punch, no matter how big they are.
Normal Series: His standard series of attacks against average foes. Normal Punch: Saitama casually punches his opponent, obliterating almost every opponent it hits. Consecutive Normal Punches: Saitama throws a rapid barrage of normal punches with one hand. Serious Punch: This is Saitama's final move. Saitama pulls back his hand and throws a huge punch, obliterating everything/anyone in its path, this move was able to kill Lord Boros. Serious Side Hops: Saitama hops from side to side rapidly. Doing so allows him to create a multitude of afterimages. Serious Headbutt: Saitama head-butts an opponent with tremendous force. Serious Table Flip: Saitama grabs the ground below him and throws a city-sized chunk of the battlefield into the air for several minutes. He can decimate most foes with just one punch, no matter how big they are. Using his Serious Punch, he was able to destroy a huge area of land with its shock-wave, despite the fact that his punch didn't touch anything. He was able to casually shatter a mile wide meteor with one punch. He broke a sword moving at the speed of sound with his teeth. He did this so fast that Speed-O'-Sound Sonic couldn't tell what happened.
His afterimages destroyed Sonic's Ten Shadows Burial which is faster than sound. He threw a city sized portion of the ground and the building below it, completely ruining his enemy's sense of direction. In one jump he leapt from the Moon to Earth with surprising accuracy. Before becoming One Punch Man, he destroyed a car while trying to save a kid. Took out a wall of a nuke proof shelter and a Demon-Class monster. Lifted a man with just two chopsticks with ease. Look out a rooftop of the heroes HQ, which was untouched by city-busting attacks. Punched hole in Deep Sea King, killing him in the blink of an eye. Knocked out Garou to the point where he has no memory of Saitama. Just the shockwave from one of his punches could obliterate a mountain (11.38 kilotons - 10.38 megatons of TNT). Created a large crater on the moon by jumping (6.45 Petatons - 4.85 Exatons of TNT). Casually destroyed a wall from Boros' ship. One-punched the Deep Sea King, and the air pressure created by the casual punch cleared the water and raindrops in the area. Being the strongest hero (and potentially character) in the series, obviously scales above: - Genos, who destroyed the House of Evolution (205.17 megatons - 24.6 gigatons of TNT). Marugori, a giant who's over a quarter of a kilometer tall, and can stomp city-sized craters into the earth. Tatsumaki, an esper who telekinetically halted and launched gigantic shells from Boros' ship, pulled the entire Monster Association hideout out from underground and overpowered Psykorochi once she had complete focus, and can pullmeteors out of orbit.
But he was clearly super casual about it.
Garou, who defeated nearly all of the S-class heroes, including Silver Fang and Tatsumaki. Gouketsu, who split clouds with a punch (203 megatons - 6.93 gigatons of TNT). Orochi, who pulled apart a section of the Earth's inner core, and lifted into the stratosphere (172.91 Exatons of TNT). In the web comic, Saitama implied he could destroy the Earth. Murata has drawn Saitama punching through either a planet or moon in a chapter cover. But he was clearly super casual about it. He may have called it his "Serious Punch", but that's the joke. He's only now getting "kind of" serious. In order to get as generous a number as possible, let's assume Saitama was exerting the least amount of effort he could to throw that punch. Since he's still technically a human, we can assume the ratio between the least amount of effort possible and the most is relatively consistent with other humans. Let's just say he burned the equivalent of only one calorie relative to the strongest punch ever recorded, which was over 1,000 joules.
Can create afterimages just by hopping side to side.
For reference, the average person burns 1 calorie a minute doing absolutely nothing, so this is assuming Saitama is literally as casual as physically possible. That'd make his strongest punch about 200x greater than his weakest. Using Boros' energy blast as a base, Saitama's theoretical strongest punch would be over 11 yottatons of TNT. Enough to annihilate Uranus 4x over. Can create afterimages just by hopping side to side. He can keep up with and outpace Speed-O'-Sound Sonic. Instantly covered 1,500 meters in the physical examination. Saitama can block attacks from Lightspeed Flash, whom it is assumed can attack fifteen times in a nanosecond. Fast enough to run on walls. Ran down a building to save a piece of salmon that fell from his lunch on the roof, so fast that on-lookers couldn't tell what happened. Jumped from the Moon to the Earth in 16 seconds (8% speed of light). Can dodge attack while sitting down on a chair. Can create afterimages so fast not even Speed-o'-Sound Sonic could comprehend it. Easily dodged Flashy Flash and caught his Flashy Slash. Consistently dodged Genos' attacks. Kept up with Flashy Flash and moved fast enough to catch up to him. Faster than Awakened Cockroach, who claimed he could avoid attacks going at the speed of light.
Tanked attacks strong enough to destroy an entire city.
Punched fast enough to blueshift. Once again, potentially massively upscales from everything above. Came out of the fight with Lord Boros (who was said to be the strongest being in the universe) unscathed (with the exception of his clothes). Tanked attacks strong enough to destroy an entire city. Casually shrugged off Genos' powerful blasts. Survived the vacuum of space multiple times. Capable of surviving an atmospheric reentry without a single scratch except for his clothes. Completely resistant to telekinetic attacks from extremely powerful users eg throwing rocks, telekinetic shock waves and a TK twister. Barely was fazed during the battle between Fubuki and Tatsumaki, which took place underground the New Hero Association HQ and caused the building to shake violently. Can resist blows from Asura, who blew Genos' attacks away. Completely unfazed by punches from the demon level monster Deep Sea King, who had punched through a shelter designed to survive a nuclear war and defeated most of the A class heroes, the S class hero Puri Puri Prisoner, Genos and drove Sonic to retreat. Took a punch capable of setting metal ablaze. Tanked several hits from Boros during their fight. No-sold attacks from Fubuki. Was unfazed by Garou's attacks. Tanked this explosion and was completely fine (just a bit dusty). Withstood claw swipes from Nyan without feeling anything. Comparable to Genos who survived a shockwave which destroyed a large mountain-like rock formation. Completely unfazed after being attacked by Geryuganshoop, who claimed to be the most powerful psychic in the universe. Fought Seiryu, one of the most skilled martial artists on the planet, and withstood highly powerful kicks. Casually bathed in a pool of lava. Once again, potentially massively upscales from everything above. Defeated Garou, the human monster who was defeating the majority of the S-class heroes. Defeated Lord Boros, an alien invader who is considered undefeatable and has implied to have planet busting power. Before becoming One Punch Man, managed to defeat Crabrante with his own tie. Effort: Due to his godly strength, Saitama has grown so bored of fighting that he never puts full effort into his fights any more, leaving him fighting far from his maximum potential. Spicy food, mosquitos, rock paper scissors, and video games. As a fighter, it should be noted that he lacks a lot of martial arts training that even B-Class heroes are knowledgeable about.
Scott Shelly ( Hangul:셸리 ) is one of the female protagonists in the webtoon. She begins a one-sided relationship with Jay at the start of the series but as the story progress they have a mutual crush on each other and as of chapter 378 they are in a relationship. Shelly is the only female member of the Humming Bird Crew. Because she stayed at England before coming to Korea her personality is perceived as very headstrong. She does not like it when people talk badly about her friends, especially Jay. Shelly also has a lot of stamina and strength, she can keep up with the group's pace when racing and can actually send people flying with her punch (Although that may be for comedic reasons) but never got into the street fights with the guys of the crew. When she was hit on in her first appearance on the series she refused with a lot of sass. Mia described her as someone who can confidently express her thoughts and feelings. Although her words are harsh, it is because she never sugar coated her words with her friends. And with Jay, Shelly is very clingy and flirtatious. She has very foreign features: pale skin, her eyes actually look more mint green in color than blue, blond wavy hair. It is known later in the series that she has a tattoo in the side of her arm near the wrist that reads out "temet nosce" or "Know Thyself". At school she wears her uniform usually without the red vest and both wears the skirt and pants.
It was told in an early episode (Ep.
She is often seen wearing high-end brand clothing, but also occasionally wearing street wear and tomboyish clothes. When riding her bike, she usually wears a jacket and helmet with the same color as her eyes or the Hummingbird crew's hood. She is tall, with long thin legs, a small waist and a bigger bust. Not much is known about Shelly, but it is established that she is from England and she requested to transfer to Sunny High School because of Jay. It was told in an early episode (Ep. 27) that she will be in Korea for one semester. Shelly is the granddaughter of Sunny High School's principal, Nick. When Shelly was a kid, she didn't want to get married and promised Nick that she will just live with him forever, which caused Nick to think that Shelly is not interested to guys until she got interested in Jay. That also caused the over protectiveness of her grandfather. Jay saw what happened and chased the thieves to get her purse back. She refused on taking him to the hospital but Jay refused. She picked up his student ID that had fallen to the ground and, motivated by her encounter with Jay, called her grandfather, asking him to let her attend Sunny High School. Her second meeting with Jay was in their classroom. She kissed him out of the blue and the gossip that Shelly and Jay were in a relationship quickly spread around the school.
When Jay, Dom and Minu got suspended, Shelly visited them and scolded Dom and Minu badly about how Jay got caught with their actions. Jay got pissed and told her to screw off, she ended up crying and running away. When Jay was about to say sorry, he got a pink rose from Minu, saying that he should give it to her. He couldn't and Shelly went on saying that she'll forgive him if he became her boyfriend for a week and Jay agreed. She joined Hummingbird as the only female on the team, she continued to flirt with Jay and when Jay was teaching Mia how to ride a bike, she kept on intervening and wanting him to teach her even though she knows how. On a special episode, Shelly was seen riding a bike in Jay's neighborhood. Minu and Kay noticed her, Kay was thinking of who might Shelly go out with and ended up being shocked that it was his brother. In the last scene, Jay and Shelly are resting after riding their bike together, and she comments that Jay suits biking more than studying. The Preliminaries for the League of Street has started, only Dom and Jay were able to race at the first two rounds. After that, they found out that Jay's birthday was near and planned to celebrate it. She didn't showed up at school on his birthday because she was the one who prepared the gift that they got for him.
