Patrick Star is one of the main characters of the SpongeBob SquarePants series. He is SpongeBob's best friend as well as one of his neighbors. Patrick is a fat starfish and not very smart. He lives under a rock and is next door to Spongebob and Squidward. He enjoys playing with SpongeBob and without him knowing it often annoys Squidward. Patrick is voiced by Bill Fagerbakke and first appeared in the first episode, "Help Wanted". He is the second of two children of Margie and Herb Star. Sam got lost at sea when he and Patrick were kids. He didn't see her again until the episode "Big Sister Sam." In the same episode, she mentions how Sam was her 'rock' when they were young and how she cared for him, implying they were somehow separated from their parents when Patrick was a baby. However, in "I'm With Stupid", he is able to recognize his parents immediately and it is implied that they are not long gone. In "Rule of Dumb", Patrick apparently has royal blood and briefly reigns as King of Bikini Bottom until the residents realize they don't have to obey Patrick's orders and the real heir to the throne turns out to be Gary the Snail, who is apparently Patrick's cousin. Patrick lives in his stone house at 120 Conch Street, Bikini Bottom. He has two neighbors, namely SpongeBob who is his best friend and Squidward.
In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, he also wears a hat and Goofy Goobers underwear.
Patrick is a pink starfish. He usually wears green shorts with purple flowers (like the flowers in the sky). In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, he also wears a hat and Goofy Goobers underwear. He also wore cufflinks in "Welcome to Bikini Bottom Triangle". Patrick is described as a starfish who is overweight, lazy, and behaves stupidly. Unlike most of the other main characters of the series, Patrick does not have a nose. Because of this, he usually can't smell (as in "Something Smells" where SpongeBob has bad breath). He once, in "No Nose Knows", Patrick had a nose through plastic surgery, and in "The Battle of Bikini Bottom", Patrick's nose was able to grow through his sheer strength. In season 1, his eyebrows are thin and "m" shaped, whereas since season 2, his eyebrows are slightly thicker and shaped like a Zs. In some episodes, Patrick may have a complete tooth, one tooth, and sometimes none at all. Patrick's intelligence is generally low, although it varies from episode to episode. In some episodes, Patrick struggles to complete the most basic of tasks. His memory tends to be poor and he can forget how to do simple things like eat or how to stop falling. But in some other episodes, he can be brilliant, and display an intelligence that confuses other characters. Patrick seems to be more sensitive to evil and sarcasm than SpongeBob, usually in the form of more understanding that Squidward doesn't like them.
He also occasionally gives witty banter and sarcastic comments. Usually he has good intentions but often inadvertently causes trouble for both himself and his friends. According to his driver's license, Patrick weighs 2 ounces. In seasons 1 to 3, Patrick is shown with multiple teeth, but in the post-film season, he is shown with only one tooth. He is seen with one tooth for one or more scenes in "Christmas Who? ," "Survival of the Idiots", "The Secret Box," "I'm with Stupid," "Rock-a-Bye Bivalve", "Krusty Krab Training Video","Chocolate with Nuts" and "New Student Starfish" The joke that was widely used in season 1, is that when Patrick opens the stone while lying on it, he slips and falls into his living room. Patrick's mouth sometimes functions as a vacuum cleaner when in contact with a lot of food. Patrick has different levels of intelligence in Unlike SpongeBob, Patrick is shown to be a good driver, as seen when he helped SpongeBob in his driving test at "Boating School." - In "Driven to Tears", he gets a perfect score and gets a driver's license, despite his poor driving style. he does very badly. In "Slide Whistle Stooges", he is shown driving again.
